Ashok began life working on his father’s jute field in Assam, but financial crisis and not having a profitable yield forced him to look for a job that would generate another source of income for his family. He was appointed as a bus conductor in Dispur and served for 2 years. Later in the year 1995 he left for Goa in search of better prospects. Initially Ashok worked as a cleaner in the Verna Industrial Estate. Later in the year 2000 he joined a security agency and started serving as a watchman.

Ashok has efficiently managed his financial resources and has invested in properties and has built a house for his family in Assam. Ashok plans to retire as a watchman in the next 3 years before which he aims at getting his children settled. But retirement doesn’t mean giving up hard work for Ashok. He plans to return to Assam to continue farming and start up a general store as his village has only a few general stores and his start-up would definitely be profitable. A part from financial stability and his assets the biggest asset Ashok owns is a great mindset and a happy life.
