Pabela was born as Bebela Corgaonkar in the remote village of Korgao. She has six siblings and she is the eldest among all. Her father was alcoholic and he used to abuse her mother and her siblings, he used to spend his entire earnings on alcohol. Being eldest of all Pabela took the responsibility of her family at a very young age and began working as a home nurse to an elderly Anglo Portuguese descent lady. She worked her entire life there and earned sufficient money which she could use for her survival as she was a spinster who used to live alone. Later in her life she felt that she needed someone for her support during her old age and decided to get married. She got married to Clifford who is a welder by profession.

Since she got married at elderly age many people use to taunt her and spoke many bad things about her, started calling her shameless. Pabela had a strong and positive attitude towards her life and she neglected all the tantrums that came her way. When people started questioning her about her getting married at this age,she said that it's never too late to start a happy journey of life by getting married to get a support in old age. She as a person believes that the opinion of people never matters when it comes to life.
